English-German bouncers, rain and switchoffs

Hello everybody! This week was the last week of the month. Already over. Craziness. It was also a low month in the mission. We've seen a little less baptism than we'd like, but that paves the way for next month to hit the goals we set!!! Monday was pretty eventful. It was pretty much just office elder errands day, but we made it pretty fun too, so that's not too bad. It started out pretty normal in the morning, we didn't really have any big plans for the day except some lunch with an RC. So we got up an emailed and then got a call from a member who told us that she needed her passport at the airport before 2 o'clock. (She is flying to Hong Kong to go to the temple before she goes on her mission) so we sped over there after a quick lunch at the office and postponed the lunch with RCs. We got there and there was a huge mix up on where to meet and so that took longer than intended and parking was a mess haha. After that we headed over to the post offi...

prophets, zone conferences, and sleep overs

<momnote> This was a very exciting week since Pres. Nelson and Elder Holland and their wives were in Bangkok! I thought the prophet would probably meet with the missionaries separately like he did in India but their schedule was too tight. Ethan said they arrived in Bangkok sometime after noon. They came into the office (he tells about it below) and were there for about 5 minutes and then headed out for "a power nap" before the evening meeting. The evening meeting was in a big conference center and around 3000 people attended. They were on a plane for Hong Kong the next morning by 6 am. That sounds tiring to me, I can't imagine being 93 and visiting all these countries in such a short time!! </momnote> Hello everybody!!! This week was a wild one! First off, there was no pday this week since we had two last week, so that was kind of crazy. Monday was a normal work day. Sort of. We started out the day with studies because we kn...

drivers license, PIs, and สงกรานต์

<momnote> Hi Everyone, Last week was the Thai New Year national celebration, called Songkran. To celebrate the whole country pretty much has a massive water fight. :) The missionaries had pday on Monday and Friday that week and then no pday the following week. So Ethan wrote two letters this week. I knew he would be getting his drivers license and asked if he was worried about passing the test and he told me that in Thailand it doesn't take much to get a license. He seems to enjoy being behind the wheel of a car again. Thanks for supporting and loving him! -Lisa </momnote> สวัสดีครับทุกท่านนะครับ This week has been another week for the books. I mean it's not every week that you get 2 pdays in a week right?? So fun. Anyways, on Monday we spent the morning getting my Thai drivers license. That took all of forever. It certainly ate up the morning, we are there from like 9-12/1ish. It took forever. But I passed all the special tests so...

Transfers!

สวัสดีครับทุกท่านนะครับ This week is transfers week, and so I'm just going to spoil it right now and say that I'm in the office here in Asoke, downtown Bangkok and my new comp is Elder McClellan from Payson Utah! Good times right here, I am excited for this transfer. Monday was pretty sweet. We started off the day by sending in a letter to the office real quick, and then we went and visited with an LA and his family. We sat and talked with his grandma for a bit, and she's a nice lady, used to have a restaurant in Asoke where she sold rice foods. Your typical fried rice and stuff. Gotta love it. She was also kind of savage, because her grandson (the LA that we are working with who is 20 years old) is a little shorter and small, and she said (while he was sitting right there) that he's still small and hasn't grown up yet. Ouch.... After that, we headed to the church with him to help him with a project real quick, and then we studied and had lunch. After t...

What a fire week!

สวัสดีครับทุกท่านนะครับ This week was another week of a missionary. Another fast one too. The weeks in the transfer seem to go faster as the transfer moves on... Anyways, Monday was a way fun day. We went to Dream Land!!! It's basically the Thailand version of Disney Land but a little less intense and so not as exciting. Fun times though, even if the roller coasters were a little lacking. It was kind of downsized and made for little kids a bit, but it was still pretty fun stuff. Also, my good buddy Stop from บางเขน came along as well so that was real fun as well. The rides were fun though, and there were some water rides that were way fun stuff. Is that swimming?? ผิดกฎหรือเปล่า I'm not sure. It was fun though. After that, we headed back to the area and then we had some video call ผิดนัด s. Awesome. It was ok though because after that we got to spend some time in a neighborhood inviting and found some cool peeps. Some drunk, others just crazy.. Tuesday, we h...

Wow this week was even faster!

สวัสดีครับทุกท่านนะครับ This week was another really quick one. I really don't know what it's been with the past couple of weeks but I really do fro like I blink and before I know it, it's Sunday again. Life of a missionary I suppose. Anyways... Monday we had zone conference! Zone conference is always so much fun! We slept over at the DLs house for the night and we were up by 5:30 to jump in a taxi and get to Asoke by 8:00. Then we got things set up, grabbed some breakfast off the street real quick and it began! We had some really solid training from the APs and president Johnson in the morning about raising mission standards of excellence, and being obedient and better missionaries by opening our mouths! Great stuff. After that, we had lunch and then more training. Sister Johnson talked about humility, and We learned about how to be better planners. After that we had some great dinner and then a couple other activities and finished the night with the ZL/STL t...

What a quick week!

สวัสดีครับทุกท่านนะครับ (Hello everyone!) This week was probably the fastest of my mission so far. It seems like we went to bed Sunday night and then woke up the next day and it was Sunday again! Crazy stuff. Good week though. Not bad at all. Monday, we had a busy pday. We got up right away and email for a bit and then headed over to the gym for another little bit. That felt way good. I've been getting out of shape here... too many snacks and not enough exercise haha. But that's the life of a missionary I guess haha. Anyway, after that was over we headed over into Asoke. We stopped by our fabric place, and then we headed over to MBK. It's basically a huge store where you barter for the things you buy, and you can get anything you want. I got some good fabric, a nice bag and some soccer jerseys. Good stuff. After that, we headed to the suit place where the guy made some final adjustments on my suit, and then it will be ready to pick up the next week. And it...
