Hello everybody!
This week was the last week of the month. Already over. Craziness. It was also a low month in the mission. We've seen a little less baptism than we'd like, but that paves the way for next month to hit the goals we set!!!
Monday was pretty eventful. It was pretty much just office elder errands day, but we made it pretty fun too, so that's not too bad. It started out pretty normal in the morning, we didn't really have any big plans for the day except some lunch with an RC. So we got up an emailed and then got a call from a member who told us that she needed her passport at the airport before 2 o'clock. (She is flying to Hong Kong to go to the temple before she goes on her mission) so we sped over there after a quick lunch at the office and postponed the lunch with RCs. We got there and there was a huge mix up on where to meet and so that took longer than intended and parking was a mess haha. After that we headed over to the post office to pickup a package for an elder across the country and then headed home in the biggest traffic jam of your life (welcome to Bangkok) but I gotta say, driving here is pretty fun. After that, we had dinner with that RC and then got hair cuts and then we headed to a funeral for a member who died recently.
Tuesday, we got 4 new investigators!! Ah it was so good. So happy for us. Finding is something we need to get better at. This morning, we got up and studied in the morning and then left to go and find a neighborhood we thought would be a good spot to go and invite around. About the time we finally found it and got there it was time for district meeting.. so we had to leave. After district meeting, which was fire as usual, we went and planned on visiting a couple of LAs. That happened, and we also ran into a member who introduced us to her her neighbor who is now a new investigator! And he is way cool! After that, we hurried over to the church for English and grabbed some dinner along the way. After a fun English class we talked with 3 guys who told us they were all interested. So that was way cool. We taught them, and got a return appt.
Wednesday, we had a fire switchoff! Elder Sumsion is in his second transfer and he is way good at Thai and he is such a good missionary. We had a way busy and fun day together. So I had stayed the night at their apartment and in the morning our exercise consisted of riding the elevator to the roof and looking at Bangkok from 26+ stories up. It was way cool. I could see my old area Bangkhen from up there. We had a ผิดนัด early in the morning and then a fire lesson with an awesome investigator! She is so cool. After that we headed to the church, had a couple more ผิดนัดs and so we studied and then had lunch, and the guy that said he was coming never showed up, and the next guy too. So we just went home for the afternoon to finish up studies. Then we went to the office and met with our WML to go and teach a part member family and we had a fire restoration lesson. It was way good. Then we switched back at the church and that was the day.
Thursday, we had a fire day as well. And lots of ผิดนัดs. That's what happens with PIs oftentimes though. Too bad. Anyways, we studied in the morning and then sent some mail to the states for some missionaries that finish their missions this summer. After that, we had our first ผิดนัด and then we tried to go to the next person, and then they ผิดนัดed as well. After that we decided to visit an LA who lived in the neighborhood and today he was there! Way cool. He told us his story and turns out he has been a member for 30+ years now. But his wife doesn't want him to go anymore, and his health is failing, so he stopped maybe a year ago. We have him a blessing. It was a powerful experience for me. Sometimes I worry about what I need to say, but this time it was like it was all written down and all I had to do was read it. Power of the spirit for sure. Following that, we got some food and then met with a cool LA who wants to start coming back. Then rain cancelled a couple other appointments and so we luckily got one last lesson with one of our daters and she is so awesome. Has a desire to know.
Friday, we returned back to the neighborhood from Tuesday, and talked with several people, and no one was interested.. maybe we needed to talk to more people. We got a couple of people interested in English though so that's way good. We were there for a bit and then headed over to the older man who is LA from yesterday and gave him a BoM in Chinese because he says he reads that better. (And his wife hid his other one) then we grabbed some lunch and started weekly planning at the office. It was way good. Fire stuff. We got some effective stuff put together. After that, we started studies but we interrupted by some people in the office that needed some help. Whether finished we had to run to an appt with a new investigator from Tues. We were teaching and about the time we needed to go, it just started pouring rain.. like coming down not cats and dogs, but tigers and elephants. We walked out of there and because no taxis would take us we walked to the nearest subway station and got it the church. Only problem was that took like an hour because the station was probably a like 2 kilos away (little more than a mile).. So that was fun. We missed ward correlation meeting, and got there an hour late for a visit with an LA. And we had to take out shoes off because of all the water we were wading through. So we got there, barefoot, eventually.
Saturday, it rained all morning. And so we spent all afternoon drying off, and well, we were pretty much wet all day. We started off the day by finishing weekly planning. Then we went and taught a grandma and her granddaughter. We honestly were a little skeptical about how interested they would be, but when we got there, the grandma had read some of the BoM! We were so happy. We then taught the restoration. I was honestly kind of surprised they let us in because of how wet we were, but it was a good lesson. After that, we studied and had lunch. (This is where we tried to dry off but no luck) we got some office work done as well. Good times. After that, we spent the evening with an international investigator who has gone to church before, met Mormon missionaries 40 years ago, and he loves stories. So it was a long visit haha. He's got potential though. Good guy. Used to be a bouncer at a German pub. Cool guy. He looked at me and said that he once knocked a guy my height 5 meters with one hit that was so quick no one else saw it. Clearly not a guy to mess with. He teaches English here. On our way out he made a funny remark. He said that the problem with Mormons is they're so bloody friendly. When we got home, we invited all of our investigators to church, and all that fun stuff.
Sunday, we had a fun day. Sadly, none of our investigators showed up to church. So that was pretty darn disappointing. The sacrament is sooo important for us each and every week! We had a ton of visitors in the international ward today too so that was fun. After that, we had a fun multilingual lesson on the priesthood. We had a couple Pakistani ladies, a Thai woman, and another Pakistani man. And our WML joined us. He is from Nepal, speaks like 10 languages. English, Urdu, Nepalian language, and Thai to name a few. He's way เก่ง. So that was a fun lesson to teach. Then we had a great 5 Sunday lesson and talked about how important ministering is. It made me way pumped for all the opportunities it will provide to help ward members. After church, we had studies and a couple of teaching appointments. Good times. There is this one international sister that has been taught for a while now, and we are working with her, but she is doing so much better now!
Spiritual thought for this week comes from prayer. The senior couple (Elder and Sister Gay) here in the office are leaving to go home soon, and they will be sorely missed. Anyways, they both gave talks on Sunday, Elder Gay gave a powerful talk on the atonement, and Sister Gay on prayer, particularly family prayer. She talked about how her family would be up at 5:45 a, everyday to pray and read together. Elder Gay would have been up since 5 am milking cows, and would come in and they would start the day all together. She then related a story of a soldier who carried a watch that told him the time back home, so he knew that when it was 6:00 am back home, he knew his family was gathered in prayer for him. How awesome. I am grateful for my family back home as well. Her talk really impressed upon me the importance of prayer, especially family pray, and brought tears to my eyes as she related a these stories.
"I want to share one last thing, that was perhaps the most meaningful to me. She said that "The way to stay close to someone who is separated fro you is to find a way to communicate with and listen to them. The longer this goes on the deeper the bond will be."

We are fallen, but we have a Father in Heaven who loves us ALOT. He wants to help us so much, and all we have to do is turn to him in prayer. That is how we communicate with him. It is spectacular. I know He lives!! He loves us.
