Hello, this is the week of transfers. This morning we invited all morning waiting for the Lampang elders to show up and so that we could switch out with them in our area, both the two of them. And that was, that was just super fun. So we tried to go and visit a couple of people in the morning, Elder Flake and I, but no one was available and so we kind of wandered around looking for stuff to do to be able to visit. And then I remembered this PI, this random guy we met with on a switchoff with the assistants. We went over to their house and he fed us lunch. It was raw meat, a raw meat dish that's classic to Thailand. And it was actually really good, full of blood too. So that was interesting. We went home, we got some real lunch, also visited another investigator and then we had some studies.
After studies we met with a young man that we want to serve a mission and we gave him some encouragement to serve a mission and gave them a talk to read. And then we talked to a recent convert of ours and visited her real quick and then we tried to visit a family, but they were actually not there unfortunately. Then we went to a family home evening with an investigator of ours to a family to kind of fellowship together and it was fantastic! With way good food and a great spiritual thought to help him strengthen his testimony about Joseph Smith and yeah, that was about the day. On Tuesday, we went inviting and tried to find the guy we found yesterday, but he wasn't there and then we paid our water bill because they were going to cut off all the water since we hadn't paid that a very long time. So we've got that paid and then we taught another lady who is a potential investigator and also sells food. And then we taught our men Getesak who is going to be interviewed for this Sunday to be baptized. We are so excited for him! Then we ran around and looking for an RC. And then we taught him and talked to him and he's way strong. He's going to get the Melchizedek priesthood soon. After that we had district meeting and then some studies and then we taught a fantastic investigator. And then we skipped English class, which was actually really fun because I've been waiting for a long time to have the chance to skip English class. Just kidding. I love English class, but we did skip it. After that it was pday, the Wednesday pday for transfers. We went up to the highest point in Thailand on Doi Inthanon, and we saw the sunrise. We were up at three in the morning to do that, but it was worth it. We saw the sun rise, hiked around, saw a way cool waterfall and then we came down and I found out that my new companion is Elder Ference, who is really cool.
So we were both in the same MTC district a very long time ago and we were actually both district leaders in MTC and now we're zone leaders here up in Thailand. So there's that. We're like the super cool, power companionship. Also fun fact, the zone leaders in Ubon (?) are the same deal. They're both in our group and they were both the district leaders in the other district in the MTC with us, which is super fun. After the day was over Elder Chin got packed and we kind of just lazed around the house all day, Elder McCown and I switched off that night in their area for the evening. We met with a super strong RC and then we invited in the morning to find some investigators to help strengthen their area. It was a lot of fun. Then we came back to our area for studies and a couple other appointments that we had.
We interviewed our guy for baptism and he is ready! Fast forward to the end of the week. We weren't actually ready to have the baptism and so we had to move it back to the next Saturday, but it's still gonna happen, so that's all good. On Friday, that was Elder Ference's first full day here. We spent the morning inviting, taught a great new investigator and then taught a couple of other investigators and grabbed some lunch. We taught some more investigators, had some studies and then we taught some other people and grabbed some dinner. A lot of inviting, way fun stuff. Saturday was the day. It was the big day that the temple broke ground in Asoke! So in the morning we watched the relay video from Asoke and that was actually really cool. It was really pretty awesome. At noonish we met with an investigator and got his information for a baptismal interview for his record, then we had weekly planning, called a million people, studied, went and taught a lady that's huge on human rights and we're going to teach her about the Book of Mormon and how great that is. And then we invited another investigator and taught Pon, our super curious student that's super awesome. And then we called a lot of people and had language study to close out the day.
Sunday was pretty much the same as last week. We got up in the morning went to pick up Pas-ow, brought him to church, then took him home. Then we went to Mon's house after lunch to try to get him to come to church and he promised us he would come and he didn't come, unfortunately. So after that we went home, planned, did our studies and then we had some finding time, grabbed an interpreter for our zone conference meeting this week and had a couple of fantastic appointments. One with Sister Naa, the wife of an RC here, and then Sister Ohn who is galean and she's super awesome. She's the one that needed to get paperwork done for her marriage They're moving right along. Then we met in RC to close out the night and he's gonna help us teach a lot more and bring his friends to church as well, and so we're super excited for all of them and that was the week.
I feel as though i have mentioned it before, but i will rant on it again. I read a great talk from Elder Bednar recently directed to missionaries called, "The Answer is in the Doctrine." It's a great long talk, but long story short is if we don't do something right, it's because we don't understand the doctrine and reasons behind it all. And the most basic doctrine that I can think of is God is our Heavenly Father and he loves us soooo much. So everything he asks us to do is out of love. If we can just understand this one point, everything would just become second nature to us. Going to church, praying, serving, etc.

I know Christ is at the head of this work!! He loves us, and so does our Father in Heaven. These two work together very hard for us!! :)
