Hello everybody!! This week was way good. I love this ward and this place. Straight fire.
Monday was a pretty ok day. We went to the local crocodile zoo/farm which was like my 3rd or 4th time going, so that was ok, but feeding crocs is always fun right??
Tuesday, we had studies, district meeting, and then because of an activity at the church, we did not have English class. So we taught nice lady whom we also dropped, met a crazy guy at the mall, ran out of time to video an English lesson, and then dinner with a member and a great teaching appt with a dater of ours.
Wednesday, i had a switchoff with Elder hatch, one of the zone leaders. Hes a cool dude. It was a fun day. We tried to meet an investigator at work, but it was her day off, :/ and then we helped a member and her investigator friend sell rice ans food. Fun times. Then taught another sweet ol lady, dinner at IHOP, a lesson with จอย a humble man who sells Buddha statues, who is now a dater, and then a quick lesson in English with our Burmese guy, ตาต้า.
Thursday, we actually went back to help sell again, and then we taught สมชาย, a guy who is also humble and has a dry sense of humor. Hes great. Then some RCs that are struggling, (debts a killer, stay away from that) and then we had a fun scripture class, and our evening kind of fell apart after that.
Friday, we started out with some service, helping some members (like we were back home in elders quorum lol) and then weekly planning, and studies, and sports night. That was the day! A way good appointment that night with ปลื้ม a fire RC of ours as well. She wants to share the gospel with everyone.
Saturday, we confirmed with an investigator of ours in the morning, that he would go to church the next day, and then went inviting in a neighborhood that was actually superrrr quiet.... :/ no one around. Dang. Then studies, met with a super old RC of ours who is way good, and then จอย again. What a great guy, and then a party with a family that i really love. It was the dads ans the daughters birthday!!
Sunday it was a happy happy day. The father of the family from last night wants to change and be better. And so he came to church for thr first time in like 5 years!!! Yeah! It was so good. He looks so much more happy. That afternoon, we had correlation, and then we invited that evening, found a sweet little family that is interested in English, and another cool dude that wants to change his life. Next week should be great!!!!
My spiritual thought comes from a recent training in district meeting. All about choices. We need to choose the harder right if we really want to be happy. and so, we talked about this in terms of missionary work, and then we read a talk by Elder Holland. I will share an excerpt.
“If ye love me, keep my commandments,”14 Jesus said. So we haveneighbors to bless, children to protect, the poor to lift up, and the truthto defend. We have wrongs to make right, truths to share, and good todo. In short, we have a life of devoted discipleship to give indemonstrating our love of the Lord. We can’t quit and we can’t go back. After an encounter with the living Son of the living God, nothing is everagain to be as it was before. The Crucifixion, Atonement, andResurrection of Jesus Christ mark the beginning of a Christian life, notthe end of it. It was this truth, this reality, that allowed a handful ofGalilean fishermen-turned-again-Apostles without “a single synagogueor sword”15 to leave those nets a second time and go on to shape thehistory of the world in which we now live.
In short, we all have a call to be the best people that we can. And how do we do that?? Follow Christ. I know He lives, and He loves us more than we could possibly understand. He is the Head of this work.
Have a great week!
