Hello everybody!
Another week in the works. These weeks just get quicker and quicker all the time. I truly don't understand how it works.
Monday was mission tour. Which meant every missionary in Bangkok went to the center of the city, Asoke and we met with Elder Homer the second counselor in the Area Asia Presidency. He's pretty straight fire. Basically blasted us for disobedience and then had a good workshop on finding the elect, and those prepared to hear the message of the restoration. It was cool. The spirit was with him. Powerfully. After that, we had s couple appts upon arriving home and that was good.
Tuesday, we had s pretty normal day. Since we had mission tour, there was no district council. Just English planning for English class. Which was fun. We also went and saw an investigator we gave a BoM to, but feel like he's kind of losing the fire, and we said another guy, but he gave us the BoM back and said he read the whole thing (in 3 days) and it was a good book and that's it. So that's too bad. English class was great. We talked about stories, and the BoM afterwards. It was a fun class.
Wednesday was our pday. It was a good day. We got up and headed to an island that was way sick. We hiked up a mountain which certain others in the district weren't happy about, but when they saw the fire they were ok 555. After that, we played in the shallow water and skipped rocks and took pictures and stuff. It was good. Then it was rainy and trafficky on the way back and so we were back late. But back in time to do a mock interview with ปลื้ม and she is so ready for baptism! Fast forward to Sunday she was baptized!!! So happy.
Thursday, kind of a boring day. Weekly planning in the morning, and some studies. Then we visited an investigator, got on a couple wrong สองแถวs going home, but got there eventually and then tried to visit another investie, but they weren't home and had some dinner and visited an LA family, and they all came to church! เย้
Friday, we started out with a bit of studied, read in the BoM with our sweet investigator lady named จำรุล. She would be baptized if she could go to church on Sunday, but she needs to take care of her mom... She only has 4th grade level education, but she understands the scriptures pretty well now. She's really ตั้งใจ to learn. It's so cool. She's so nice. After that, we had lunch with and served a member at her street vendor place. She's got great food. Then we finished studies, helped an RC, and are dinner with an old friend. Stop. Didn't take any pictures though, sorry bout that. After that, ปลื้ม passed her interview! เย้ so exciting.
Saturday, we had a pretty good day. Picked up a PI dude who is like 77 years old. He said he is tired of Buddhism and wants to be Christian. And it seems that the atonement will have a lot of rebalance in his life. He is a cool guy. He is a Vietnam war veteran. And Korean war veteran. Used to be a pilot. Used to be in jail as well. So yeah he's done a lot. But he can change! That's the good news of the gospel! Bishop helped us out a lot with that one. Way cool. After that, we invited for a bit, has some lunch, invited some more, and some more, had some dinner, and invited the rest of the night. Lots of walking and talking, and drunk people that don't understand anyway. And no new investigators. Sad day. I need to change my inviting...
Sunday! After church we had a baptism!! So slick. So happy. It was so good. We've got 2 of the 3 in the family, now we just need to work on the dad 555 and teach him as well. After church, we had a meeting with the ward mission and talked about how we are going to help the ward be better about sharing the gospel and erase some fears in that aspect and erase other fears about helping the missionaries. Then invited some more, bore some testimony in inviting (something I decided I needed to do better) and met with a member and some of her neighbors and stuff. They are cool. Good week.
My spiritual thought today is about the spirit ha ha ha. I've been trying to do better about bringing the spirit in my inviting. Before I would just launch into teaching a lesson right then and there, but over learned that if people don't understand, they'll just be confused and not feel the spirit. So I'm trying to use the BoM more and just testify of the savior. Most people just think he was the leader of Christianity. But he is so much more than that!
Alma 7:15-16
15 Yea, I say unto you come and fear not, and lay aside every sin, which easily doth beset you, which doth bind you down to destruction, yea, come and go forth, and show unto your God that ye are willing to repent of your sins and enter into a covenant with him to keep his commandments, and witness it unto him this day by going into the waters of baptism.
16 And whosoever doeth this, and keepeth the commandments of God from thenceforth, the same will remember that I say unto him, yea, he will remember that I have said unto him, he shall have eternal life, according to the testimony of the Holy Spirit, which testifieth in me.
I know, and the spirit can testify within me as well, as His representative that Christ lives. He is the savior of the world and though Him we can be clean from sin and sadness and everything in between.
Have a great week everybody!
