finding, interviews, switchoffs, the grind? i wouldnt call it that, because its the best. well go with the "norm"
Hello everybody!!
This week was not too exciting, because nothing super crazy happened, just more work, and love and all that good stuff.
Monday, we headed to the beach as the elders in the district, and it was sooo much fun! We got to play frisbee on the beach, and hang out and stuff. It was so fun. After that, we had a great FHE with a potential investigator. It was way fun.
Tuesday, we met with our old dude investigator, ดำรง who is bored of Buddhism, and wants to be Christian. So thats cool. Anyways, we had a scattered lesson on the gospel, explaining what we are expected to do to follow Christ, and then we sent him home. Then we had a quick lunch from 7-11, and after that, we had a quick district meeting, and then left for Asoke to do interviews, which went way behind schedule. So that was fun. It took the whole rest of the afternoon, and we barely made it to English class. But it was good, I got to see some old friends from the office, and president is so full of fire! Also, this is the first time I've had a mission president ask me for advice. He's super humble. And full of the spirit. It was super cool.
Wednesday, I had a switchoff with Elder Bird. It was pretty cool. We did studies in the morning, and then we also helped some delivery dudes in the morning at the church. After that, we tried to teach an investigator, but he wasn't free, and so we talked to an LA, and then invited for a lot of the afternoon, and found a new investigator who is interested in eternal families! It was sick. Then a quick stop at an old lady RCs place, and then we had dinner at KFC (a switch off necessity) and then we got to go and teach some of the cutest kids we have to teach, and baptize in the future. It was such a fun night. Then we closed it off with a cricket, silk worm, and grasshopper feast haha.
Thursday, we tried to meet ดำรง again, but no luck. So we studied, got some lunch, and went to work. We headed to a members house, and tried to meet with a PI, but he didnt really want to talk with us... but we did get to meet another lady who is interested in English, and way cool. then we spent some time inviting, and after that, we had lots of appointments fall through, so basically, we had time to actually do weekly planning, which was good.
Friday, we had a lot of appointments fall through except for not really because they all just got mixed up.. the morning moved to the afternoon, and the afternoon to the night. And studies in the morning haha. so that was fun. we had lunch with a great member, and then we studied at a way pretty park, and there we got a call from เจเจ's mom who said she was sick, and so we should postpone the baptism to next week. So we did that. then sports night, and บ๋อม our super cool investigator came and played soccer and it was way fun. So that was sick.
Saturday, we just did alot of inviting. Not really an appointments. It was a long morning, and we were exhausted. No one wanted to talk to us, and we were tired and didnt really want to talk to anyone either. but it was ok... after that, we came home, had lunch, and studied for a bit before going out again teaching a semi progressing investigator, and then dinner, and then an RC from last year who said she is bored of the classes at church, and so she doesnt want to go anymore.... dang.
Sunday dawned on a week with only one investigator to show! But we found 3 more by the end! It was so good. We had studies, some great meetings, a short lesson afterward, and then a couple of appointments set, and after that, we taught and dropped an investigator. Then we had nothing until a 6 oclock appt. So we got on a สองแถว and just said, well lets see where it goes. And we rode it for a while, stopped, studied language, talked with some peeps, and then taught 2 new people and brought us up to 4 new investigators! (we got one right after church) so that was sooo cool! we achieved all our goals this week! God really is a God of miracles! so that was way cool. the 2 people we talk are also soo cool. He was on Facebook one day, saw an ad for a free BoM and so we gave him one, and he and his girlfriend are superrrr interested. So sick.
My spiritual thought comes from this.
Sometimes in the mission, you have weeks that are pretty easy, and some that are hard. But they are all good. I have learned how to love the moment, and prepare for the future.
D&C 42:6
6 And ye shall go forth in the power of my Spirit, preaching my gospel, two by two, in my name, lifting up your voices as with the sound of a trump, declaring my word like unto angels of God.
I love this scripture. when we work, we can see miracles! It is the best. Every week is good because we work hard, and feel of the joy of missionary work! I love this work, and I love the Savior, I know he lives, and stands at the gate waiting for us to come home.
Have a great week!!
