Hello everybody!
This week was pretty great. Just as usual here in the Thailand.
Monday was waaay laid back, which was actually really nice. All did was hang out. Pretty much haha. We got up the morning and went and emailed, and then had McDonald's for brunch, met up with the other elders and had more food and then we headed to some markets, looked around, looked at a wat, and that was pretty much it. Not bad though. After that, we headed to the church. And hung out some more. Then we tried to track down an LA without much success, but met up with the WML and he and his family are straight fire.
Tuesday was pretty normal. Couple appts in the morning. Some made, some missed, and then we headed over to lunch and had a brief meeting at the church to practice a special musical number for zone conf and for English planning. Good stuff. Also lunch as s district so thst was fun. After that we had studies and stuff. Found a new investigator when we met with an RC, both of them are straight fire! After that taught a little lazier dater. He's been learning for like 8 years now... He's nice though. Then we had English class, and a fantastic lesson afterwards with 4 new investigators!!!! They are so fire, and want to know the truth! Then we had s sleepover that night because
Wednesday was zone conf!!! It was way fire. We were committed to teach the atonement more powerfully and use it in inviting and how to be a better inviter. President Hammond is straight fire!!!! He is such a good teacher and he really has the spirit with him when he speaks. He's got the greenie fire for sure. Well, something like that anyway. After dinner at Terminal 21, we headed over to an appt with an LA. Unfortunately he did not have a refferal for us like we had hoped however. :(
Thursday, we were soooooo busy. Unfortunately, lots if our appts cancelled on us. So that was stinky. But in the morning, we met with our fire dater and her daughter. They are both getting baptized 100% and I am so excited for both of them. After that, we had some breakfast, and met with a couple of guys our age we are trying to get to go to English class, and to sports night. They are way cool, but work alot haha. The rest of the day waa pretty much just walking around finding our appts falling through. We finished with a fire scripture class, and dinner with a great member. So that was fun.
Friday, we headed over to talk bridge (สะพานสูง) for a switchoff with the ZLs. It was a fun taxi ride over that night before haha. And a great day with Elder Libey. He is awesome. It was a laid back day though. Appointments were far and few in between... :/ we studied, had lunch, met with such a sick guy, and had lunch again with a member. Then some inviting, studies, and a way fun sports night. And two interviews for baptism there. Sunday will be lit for those guys. So awesome. And that was pretty much the day. Met with some way sick RCs as well.
Saturday, we had stake sports day!!!! It was so lit! Way way fun! Especially since we had some investigators that went as well and had a good time. It was so awesome. We played volleyball, chair ball, had some races, football (soccer) and the likes. It was way fun. We took second in football, losing in the championship game in a shootout. And won volleyball. It was way fun. Then we headed home, grabbed some food with some members and studied that evening. It was such a good day to help RCs and investigators to meet with and make friendships with members. So fire!!!
Sunday, we had a normal church day. Great sacrament meeting, classes and the likes. And our investigators are sooooo sick. So that's way cool. After church we had lunch and talked with a bunch of members and stuff. Then we had correlation meeting, which was way good. The WML here is straight fire! After that, we took a taxi to an appt, and the LA that we visited was his neighbor! Small world. Way cool. Finished up with some dinner and studies. Pretty good Sunday I'd say. Felt the spirit, and that's the most important bit right??
My spiritual thought for the week comes from the war chapters of the BoM. (The final chapters of Alma) if you read them you will see that there are sooo many times thst the Nephites take cities from the Lamanites because the Lamanite leave their stronghold. They leave and the Nephites come in and take it from them. I remember at least 3 specific examples. But I won't list them, you will have to find them yourself. :)
Moral of the story though, stay in your stronghold!!! Helaman 5:12 the legendary scripture says;
12 And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall.
Build your foundation!! And stay on it!! I know when we will stay in the boat, we cannot fall! We just can't let the devil ล่อลวง us off our foundation. When there is no enemy within, the enemy outside can do us no harm.
Have a great week everybody!
Love you guys
Elder L
