Hello everybody!
This week was one more week just working hard. Good week
Monday, we had plans to go to a way cool Buddhist temple, but it turned out that it was too expensive for us to go in than we wanted, so we opted for a different cool one, and basically had a fun day running around some more touristy areas of Bangkok. In the evening, we had a ward wide family home evening, and it was fun. We talked about ways to help ourselves stay sane and stuff, and we talked at length about organizing houses, and being healthy. After that, what do we do but eat doughnuts after such an occasion. Haha
Tuesday was Pioneer day. Pretty fun day. Pretty normal as well. Studies, a couple of appointments, district meeting, and English class. We celebrated an awesome missionary in our district who is the first person in her family to be a missionary. She is way fire. My district was also very kind and bought me a birthday cake. The day honestly flew by.
Wednesday I got to switch off with Elder Decker. He is straight fire! We did studies in the morning, and then spent the rest of the day talking with people, visiting members, and teaching repentance. It was a lit day. We found 4 new people that were ready to hear the gospel. And one of those people was sooo ready. He is way sick. We finished the night with an RC and her sassy mom. It was way fun, and we had some good food. I was very thankful to work with Elder Decker for a day. He is straight fire, and a way hardworking missionary.
Thursday, we had a baptismal interview!!! ซ.ผึ้ง is so awesome!! she is getting baptized this Sunday! We were so excited for her! Fast forward to Sunday, after she was baptized, the bishop said she is straight fire and has a strong testimony. The elder that interviewed her said the same. So we are super excited for her. That was the highlight of the day except for a crazy last minute call from the APs, and turns out we are interviewing today. President Hammond is way fire. It was a solid time talking with him. Then we had a super fun FHE at the bishops house. He is sooooo cool. Has a fierce background in martial arts.
On Friday, we ate breakfast with an investigator, and talked with a member, and found a cool guy who is her husband in law, and started teaching him. Then grabbed a quick lunch. After that we studied the afternoon away, had a couple of appts, and a way fun night at the church for sports night. It was full of fun. The members here are way cool.
Saturday, we spent the morning inviting, and trying to contact an investigator. But no luck. After that, we went and had lunch with a fire RC. It was way fun. Then we studied the afternoon away, again, and then had dinner, a couple of appts, and then headed home. More ผิดนัดs and then some inviting. It was good times.
Sunday, we were at the church like aaaaall day long. It was a long day. We did some studies, headed over, and then we had our meetings, which were way awesome, and then we had ซ.ผึ้ง's baptism! That was so awesome! The spirit was way strong. After that, we had correlation meeting, and then spent some time talking with a member about some LA members who are still relatively new. Then we found an LA. It was good. He's a nice guy.
My spiritual thought from the week is about repentance and something I observed in studies this week. It comes from the account of Nephi and Lehi when they were imprisoned.
40 And it came to pass that the Lamanites said unto him: What shall we do, that this cloud of darkness may be removed from overshadowing us?
41 And Aminadab said unto them: You must repent, and cry unto the voice, even until ye shall have faith in Christ, who was taught unto you by Alma, and Amulek, and Zeezrom; and when ye shall do this, the cloud of darkness shall be removed from overshadowing you.
42 And it came to pass that they all did begin to cry unto the voice of him who had shaken the earth; yea, they did cry even until the cloud of darkness was dispersed.
43 And it came to pass that when they cast their eyes about, and saw that the cloud of darkness was dispersed from overshadowing them, behold, they saw that they were encircled about, yea every soul, by a pillar of fire.
Until we realize like the Lamanites that we are surrounded the darkness of sin, and the need for repentance, we probably won't repent. But it is sooo important! We are up to our throat in our need for repentance, and we must never forget that! What a miracle repentance is! I know Christ stands ready to help us be clean again!
