Hello everybody!
What another week at lightning speed...
Monday was pretty darn fun. We went to this way cool Buddhist temple in the afternoon, and in the morning we emailed and had lunch with the WML here. He actually works in the mission office in translations. He is way cool. Anyways, it was a way fun day, we got some cool pics, and actually ran into a family that had come to church the day before as they toured Thailand. That was way fun. We finished the day teaching an investigator (ดี) and giving her a date! July 8th here we go! I just hope I stay in the area!!!
Tuesday, we spent some time in the office in the morning, and made a trip to the post office to send a bunch of stuff off to missionaries all around the country. We actually got to send BoMs to people who live in places where there are no missionaries. It was way cool. After that, we had studies and lunch and district meeting. Same ol, same ol. After that, we tried to contact some investigators, but they all dropped us. They were only interested in English. We then had some dinner, English class that night, and came home. Pretty normal day. not too exciting.
Wednesday was pretty long day. We spent the whole morning inviting, and traveled to a couple different places. We did not find anyone interested :( Then we had some time for office work, and then studies. After that, we taught a pretty good lesson on the PoS with a guy who had some potential. Then we raced over to dinner, and then we taught the investigator we taught on Monday, and she is so good!! She says she had a desire to be baptized, she just says she wants to learn more. It was so good. And that was the end of the day.
Thursday, we began the day with some good ol weekly planning. It took soooo long, but it was actually way effective. Probably the best all transfer long. After that we had lunch, and then we had some time for studies. Then we went to an LAs house, and she wasn't there :( But we did get to meet with a strong member there. She is sooo awesome! She is the grandma that you've never had before. So good. We also talked with a guy selling some scones and turns out that he had learned before about 10 years ago. He has a BoM hanging around his house and he says he still read it and everything. Tip for the day. When you are looking for someone to teach, follow your stomach. It worked in the Best Two Years, and in the TBM. Clearly a true principle. After that, we taught out super solid investigators with dates (ฝน & สุเทพ) for the 1st. So good! They are awesome.
Friday, we had a pretty busy day. We started with the จบers meeting, and that kind of stole the morning from us. We actually took presidents car to the repair shop as well. (Don't tell anyone, but he wrecked...) Haha nothing serious though. After that, we had some good lunch. Pizza pizza pizza. Good stuff. After that, we taught an RC real quick, and then we studied, and all that good stuff. After that we had correlation, and then we had a switchoff. I went with Elder Butnon. He is a คนไทย from ร้อยเอ็ด and he is so good! He is a convert of about 2ish years, and it was so fun to teach with him to an LAs house that night, and then all of Saturday. He bears POWERFUL testimony.
Saturday, we had personal study, and then we helped the sisters get the church ready for an wedding that evening. What we really did was steal stuff from the office that looked cool, and then hauled it in the mission van to the church. It was fun times haha. After that, we met with an RC, and then had lunch with an RC, and then we tracked down a member and finally found him. He's way cool. He fixes motorcycles for a living. After that, we met with another RC! It was a day of RCs. Fun times. After that we tried to find a potential, but he was drunk and asleep so we didn't get to teach him. Then we had a way fire lesson with สุเทพ. He is so cool. We read in the BoM together, and it was super powerful. All in all, it was SUCH a good day with Elder Butnon. He is so good, and was sick the whole time with food poisoning, but he fought through it all.
Sunday, we had a fire day! 2 baptisms! This district is so good! Anyways, so we had studies in the morning, with an LA appointment. Good stuff. Then we had a baptism before church, then sacrament meeting, and we had 3 investigators show up! So fire! After church, we had another baptism, and then dinner. It was so good. Our investigators all stayed an watched, so it was way awesome. After that, we had time for inviting, and we met up with an LA. His name is อาคม and he is literally the most sweetest humblest man I know here. I have alot of respect for him, and the way he shows love to his kids. It is really awesome.
My spiritual though this week comes from my study on prayer I had this week. Bruce R McConkie gave a way fire talk called Why the Lord Ordained prayer. It was soooo fire.
He said: There is an old saying to this effect: “If you can’t pray about a thing, don’t do it,” which is intended to tie our prayers and acts together. And true it is that our deeds, in large measure, are children of our prayers. Having prayed, we act; our proper petitions have the effect of charting a righteous course of conduct for us. The boy that prays (earnestly and devoutly and in faith) that he may go on a mission, will then prepare himself for his mission, and in fact receives his call to service. The young people who pray always, in faith, to marry in the temple, and then act accordingly, are never satisfied with worldly marriage. So intertwined are prayer and works that having recited the law of prayer in detail, Amulek then concludes:
“After ye have done all these things, if ye turn away the needy, and the naked, and visit not the sick and afflicted, and impart of your substance, if ye have, to those who stand in need—I say unto you, if ye do not any of these things, behold, your prayer is vain, and availeth you nothing, and ye are as hypocrites who do deny the faith.” (Alma 34:28.)
I've had alot of thoughts about this subject this last week. It's a way important principle. One I intend to work on better. I know that the Savior lives, and loves us! When we give it all we have, He gives all he has, which is really alot.
