Hello everybody!
This week was pretty dang quick. My good friend and district leader Elder Pool said to me this week I feel like I'm always waking up and going to bed. That's how fast the day goes by. And I have to agree. It's pretty crazy.
Anyways so we had a way fun pday on Monday!! We went to the beach and an island for the day. That was way fun. The day started with getting up at 4ish in the morning and hurriedly sending a couple of emails and then hitting the subway to the van station to get over to Sriracha. Took about an hour drive over there. So cool. Then we hopped on a ferry and played on the island for a couple of hours. Hiked a mini mountain and went to the beach. Pretty good stuff. Then we had a visit with an international investigator and he is a piece of work. Believes in aliens and the like, and the way that Ezekiel received revelation for the bible was going up to the mothership of these aliens and looking down on earth. It was an interesting visit.
Tuesday, we had a normal Tuesday. By morning we went to an LAs house and visited with him. He is so good, just hasn't really set the best priorities. Like going to church. He reads and prays everyday though so that is good. He is so loving as well. Watching him the way he would interact with his kids when they came running in and out of his front door was pretty inspiring. What a great guy. Then he went and fed us lunch as well which was unexpected but nice of him. After that, we headed over to our 12.00 appointment which ผิดนัดed and just like that you've got a potential investigator dropped. Anyways then we had district meeting but first ice cream! It was so good. Then we studied and got some stuff done in the office before we had to run to English class. And who do we find there but Jimmy our crazy international investigator. He actually teaches English for a living out here so he's good, just kind of took over the lesson haha. It was interesting. Then I headed to the district leaders house for switchoffs!!!
Wednesday, we went running in the morning. That was a call to repentance for me. Elder Pool really left me in the dust today. Anyways, then we had a way fun day! Elder Pool is so fire and it was great to be able to serve for a day with him. He and I came to Thailand at the same time and so it was fun to laugh and joke about old times and catch up a little bit. He's so fire. Anyways, we started out the day with studies. Then we went and visited an LAs house who actually turned out not to be there. It was way sad. We talked with his wife briefly though. And did some finding in the neighborhood around there. After that, we headed over to lunch and I got the cheapest plate of food I've had yet. And it was a big plate mind you. After that, we headed home and studied some language. Then we had another mini planning session and got the afternoon figured out. We invited in the neighborhood near their house for a bit and quote of the day comes from a little 7 year old we invited to English class. She said, pointing to her friend "he can't go because he doesn't have a brain" what a savage little kid. It was pretty funny though. Also got to talk to some nice people around there, a fruit seller, an ice cream seller and then we sped off to go and eat dinner at a members house and following a high speed ตุ๊กๆ ride to office we tried to visit another LA but we finished the day off with a ผิดนัด.
Thursday ended up being pretty busy. It was a good day though for sure. Any day that you get to speed around Bangkok in a mission van blasting efy music is a good day. Anyways, so we got studies knocked out in the beginning of the day, and then we got some office stuff done, and grabbed some lunch. After that, we had originally planned on doing some weekly planning, but the office piled up on us, and so we were stuck in the afternoon there as well. Then we took an elder to the airport, he was flying to New Zealand. His companion stayed with us for the rest of the day, and because he was a previous office elder, he got to drive on the way home. It was way fun. Then we got home, after about half an hour of being lost in the streets, and ran off to an appointment and came out with an new investigator!! Then we hit up some dinner and headed home.
Friday, we had a pretty relaxed day. It was way fun. We got studies and weekly planning knocked out in the morning pretty quickly, and then we headed over to a park nearby to meet with an international investigator. We were both a little late getting there though, and so we spent some time looking around and talking to people. We met a cool guy who is homeless, and he was telling us how good our lives are. Gave me some perspective on mission life. It can be way stressful sometimes, but in the end, its pretty good. After that, our investigator, Sharon is way awesome. So nice, and willing to learn more about the church, even though she is so confused about a lot of different things. After a long lesson with her, we mobbed it back to the church, and found that the service we were supposed to do was already taken care of. I guess that's what happens when you get there late. So we grabbed some good food with a member real quickly, and then we headed over to the church again for correlation, and I think this was the first time we were on time for the meeting this transfer..... After that, we had a great lesson with our dater. She is fire. Just needs to come to church... :)
Saturday was a full day and boy it was so stinking fun!!!! We spent the day at a stake sports activity. I got to see all my friends (members and missionaries) from my old area, Bangkhae. It was pretty lit. So much fun. I played goalie for the first time for our footsol team. Anyways there's not much to say except that it was so fun, and we were all exhausted by the end. We got back to Asoke just in time to shower and change for our evening appointment and run and teach there.
Sunday started out fine. It's fun to be able to pass the sacrament again, we do it every week for the internationals. After that, we had a great priesthood lesson with Elder Gay, a senior missionary who goes home here pretty soon. He is so awesome. Then when the time for the Thai ward came around, it was so sad because none of our investigators showed up. It was pretty darn depressing actually.... :( After that, we did some studies, and then the assistants had a baptism, and we had dinner and it was a great evening. After that, we left the church, and we taught an investigator at her shop where she sells food, and finally got her to sit down and talk to us. It was pretty awesome. She has some serious potential. We asked her if she wants to know where the Book of Mormon came from, and if these things are true, and she was like yeah I do! How can I know? Bam. Restoration, and a solid introduction on prayer and stuff. So good. After that, we hit the office, and were there for the rest of the night.
Spiritual thought for this week comes from my studies in the Book of Mormon. This week, I had some quality reading in Mosiah. Those chapters are so fire. I like these verses from chapter 21.
13 And they did humble themselves even to the dust, subjecting themselves to the yoke of bondage, submitting themselves to be smitten, and to be driven to and fro, and burdened, according to the desires of their enemies.
14 And they did humble themselves even in the depths of humility; and they did cry mightily to God; yea, even all the day long did they cry unto their God that he would deliver them out of their afflictions.
15 And now the Lord was slow to hear their cry because of their iniquities; nevertheless the Lord did hear their cries, and began to soften the hearts of the Lamanites that they began to ease their burdens; yet the Lord did not see fit to deliver them out of bondage.
16 And it came to pass that they began to prosper by degrees in the land, and began to raise grain more abundantly, and flocks, and herds, that they did not suffer with hunger.
I really like these verses because it talks about the love God has for us. He will not hang us out to dry. He loves us, and will help us, and will assist us in our trials. But only after we are humble enough to receive his help. And even then, he will strengthen us by degrees. Not by miles. He gives us what we need at the rate we need it. Trials are a prime way to grow, and we grow the best by climbing out of them and figuring them out, not by having them removed. Christ lives, and this is His church. Through Him, we can be with our family forever. These things I know.

this week, we've got the fire Asoke ward group picture after sports day, some good friends from back in Bangkhae, a wild night ride to the office, the cool island hike, and yeah there's a pole at the top too...
also, i was not a very good goalie at first, but I feel like i redeemed myself...
