Another Week

สวัสดีครับทุกท่านนะครับ! (Hello everyone!)

This week was pretty good. It was a little slower than the last couple, but alright overall. Plus we had zone conference and got new social media and stuff so how cool is that??

Monday, we had zone conference all day. It was way fire too. I love zone conference. It's way fun. And we get way fire training. In case you couldn't tell already, it's just pretty much a fire day. And we get some great food. I'll just quickly mention alot of what we learned and went over, since if I wrote it all, it would take up all of the email. But basically we had a good talk about the principle of obedience, building good relationships with companions, finding and teaching to needs of investigators, and working on teaching skills and things. I really learned alot. After that, we had a chance to play jeopardy for a bit, all of the questions coming from PMG, and then the zone leaders gave us some training on social media use, and now we've got Facebook and Line up and running! So that is way cool, and convenient stuff. After that, we had the best part of the conference and gorged on ice cream.

Tuesday, we had studies in the morning and lunch as well. It was a kind of laid back morning. Not too much happened really. Then we had English meeting to plan whatever wanted to do for class that night, and as English leader I finally got the chance to receive training at zone conference, so this was a good meeting. After that, we headed out and were ผิดนัดed on. So long story short, we actually taught no body today. It was pretty sad, not going to lie. Anyways, we came back to the church and then had English class. A member opened his mission call too and he is headed to London in July! So that's way exciting. Then we had a fun class on transportation and standing in holy places.

Wednesday was pday! We spent the morning emailing, and I spent some time getting social media and stuff up and running. It's way weird, not going to lie. Honestly, sometimes I almost don't feel like a missionary anymore. It's a weird feeling. After emailing we went to a board game place and spent some time with the other elders and the sisters from ธนบุรี. (Thonburi) it was pretty fun. Eventually though, it was tome to leave and so we headed back home, grabbed some food and then taught one of our investigators who is way nice and apologized for not preparing dinner and promised to make some for us the next day. And for the record, she did, as much as we told her not to worry about it haha.

Thursday, we started off the day with some good ol' inviting, or tracting, whatever you want to call it. Fun times. Unfortunately, no new investigators, but maybe some people coming to English class. It was kind of fun though because with Chinese New Year going on, there were tons of fire works going off, in the middle of the day, and they might now be very bright, but they are way loud!! Anyways, eventually we came home and had weekly planning. And it was in the middle of that, that our investigator from last night sent our dinner over for us. It was pretty good stuff. Some fruit, rice, and parts of squid, chicken and duck. อร่อย. After planning, we taught an investigator, tried to find another one who ended up going missing, and then came home for dinner. After that, we had correlation meeting, and then came home and studied. Not too crazy a day.

Friday, we went to a computer ร้าน and downloaded the BoM audio in Thai to give to an LA we are working with so she can listen to it because she told us that it hurts her eyes when she tries to read for a long time. So we got that downloaded for her. After that, we headed over to her house and had a quick little lesson and gave her part of it. The file was larger than we thought and so we are going to have to come back and give her the audio on a CD. Anyways, after that, we tried to get in contact with a bunch of people and set up some appointments, but to no avail :( no PIs or anything. So we left to go invite, and I had the impression to walk down a certain road and we did, talked to some people that were uninterested, but then we ran into a PI from last week and taught him and his friend who is already an investigator! So we got a new investigator, and found him in a way we did not expect. The Lord is looking out for us! Then we headed to the church, had a video lesson with another investigator, and taught sbother investigator of ours at his house. It was good stuff.

Saturday, we spent alot of time in a place we later learned is actually outside of our area. So yeah, that was no good. We went to visit an LA who lives way out of town, and he is an awesome guy, but we probably won't make that trip ever again. He lives way far away. After a good lesson with his family and their kindness in feeding us lunch, we headed home. (Back to the area) then we taught a guy whom were really not sure if he's an investigator or not... He claims to be a nonmember, but we've had several reports that he is, just deeply LA. So I will get back on that I guess. After that, we had studies that night and that was pretty much the day.

Sunday! It was a good day. Sunday is always the best. What a great oppurtunity to go to church and take the sacrament. It was way good stuff. Anyways, long story short, the block was great as ever. After church, we had a baptism! It was way exciting. Elder Hunt is heading home this week, and it was him and Elder Eckersly's investigator getting baptized, so it was way cool. It was great stuff. After the baptism, we had our typical after church meal, and then the district split up in crazy ways. Elder McCown went with Elder Brown (ZL) into ward council. Elder Banks (ZL) and Elder Eckersly taught an investigator, and Elder Hunt (DL) and I had a post transfer interview. Elder Hunt is way awesome. I'm grateful for the chance to learn from a dying elder, and the example he he his. He actually spoke in sacrament today too, and gave a fire talk on enduring to the end. After that, he interviewed elder McCown as well and then we headed over to teach a couple of investigators, and had some good lessons. The first one was a little off topic for alot of it, but in the end, we testified of prayer and it's importance. So that's good. After all that, we came home and had dinner and studies. Good day.

My spiritual thought for this week comes from 2 Nephi 26.

29 He commandeth that there shall be no priestcrafts; for, behold, priestcrafts are that men preach and set themselves up for a light unto the world, that they may get gain and praise of the world; but they seek not the welfare of Zion.

30 Behold, the Lord hath forbidden this thing; wherefore, the Lord God hath given a commandment that all men should have charity, which charity is love. And except they should have charity they were nothing. Wherefore, if they should have charity they would not suffer the laborer in Zion to perish.

31 But the laborer in Zion shall labor for Zion; for if they labor for money they shall perish.

Elder Hunt and I talked alot about love on Sunday and how that makes all the difference in the work. He told me that in looking back on all of his mission, he doesn't really remember the missionaries who were successful on paper, but he remembered the missionaries who were full of love and expressed that with others; members, investigators, missionaries. And I have to say, I agree with that. The people who've I've really seen succeed and have joy in what they are doing are those who are loving! So I've got a commitment to be better about that.

I know the Savior has the ultimate amount of compassion and lives towards us. He is always there, waiting to help us. All we need to do is ask, and ask with real intent :)
