Hello everybody!!
This week was a bit of a wild ride. What an adventure this has been, and how exciting this next one will be! If there is one thing to learn before leaving on a mission, or in preparation for life in general, learn to have a good attitude!! That can make or break your efforts out here, and in life in general. Missionary work can be way fun, or miserable, and the thing is, it's your choice which you want it to be.
So last Pday wasn't too exciting for us, we just emailed and went back to the apartment for a nap. I had a splitting headache though, so I wasn't really complaining, sleeping didn't hurt it like moving around did.
Tuesday, we had to get flu vaccines, which took all of forever, since we had to see 4 different people before we could get the shot. Then we had district meeting, and studies, and English class in the evening. So nothing too terribly exciting for us.
Wednesday, we had a couple of lessons, and we are just super pumped, trying to get people ready for baptism. Oct 15 (the last Sunday of the transfer will have a ton of baptisms probably haha), and correlation with the ward mission leader. Of all the things I have been most impressed with in my time here in Bangkhen, it is the members. They are such awesome fellowshippers. They totally just take in any and all investigators that come to church, and our ward mission leader is sooo awesome. He is on top of everything, and just makes our jobs with recent converts, and investigators who have a baptismal date so much easier because he takes care of a lot of paperwork, and keeps it organized and stuff like that.
Thursday, we had to travel downtown to sign work permits, and so I got to see all of my MTC buddies who also got their's signed. It was good times. Then we got back to work. One of our investigators we had to push his baptism date back a month so we could make sure he's completely ready to be baptized, but I think he will be ok. He's way sincere, and already is developing a strong foundation of a testimony.
Friday, and Saturday were a little sad. We had a ton of appointments flake out, and so we spent a lot of the day inviting on the street, and visiting old investigators, and some less active members inviting them to church real quick. Friday night we had sports night at the church, which was way fun. We have a strong ward that is pretty unified, and investigators always feel welcome coming.
Sunday, we had 3 more baptisms!!! Way cool. It was a way good day. The members are so happy with us, and are so willing to befriend them. Something that was way awesome was a brother that we just baptized last week, was helping us teach a lesson to a guy who is progressing towards baptism and had some awesome comments! It was way cool. After that we went to a nearby college, and taught a group of like 8-9 colleges kids and handed out some Book of Mormons. They were way interested and it was cool to see. Then we had dinner at the bishop's house, and came home.
Spiritual thought of the week comes from my studies. Alma 37:37 Counsel with the Lord in all thy doings, and he will direct thee for good; yea, when thou liest down at night lie down unto the Lord, that he may watch over you in your sleep; and when thou risest in the morning let thy heart be full of thanks unto God; and if ye do these things, ye shall be lifted up at the last day.
I know that if we pray, and counsel with the Lord, he has a map for us to follow that can help us, and lead us to good. He will support us in all our endeavors.
